  1. Cranesbill (herb) and black turf boiled together produced a black dye which was commonly used for dying clothes.
    The bark of the oak was boiled and the water was used as a wash for horses and cattle.
    Slánlus, chewed between human teeth was put on a cut to stop the flow of blood.
    Créachtach which grows in bad marshy land is good for all cattle diseases.
    Nettles taken in march are a wonderful tonic.
    The roots of dandelion are used to make coffee. The roots dried in the oven, then they are boiled for a half an hour in water. The drink produced is like coffee.
